Gillan, One of Next Year's MPF Featured Poets, at Harvard's Yenching Library

One of next year’s featured poets at the Massachusetts Poetry Festival will be reading at Harvard’s Yenching Library Sunday, November 11 at 3:00. Maria Mazziotti Gillan, along with Vivian Shipley, will present a program called Poets who edit On the Page and On the Stage. 

The program, sponsored by the New England Poetry Club, begins at 3:00 in Common Room 136.

Gillan is the Director of the Creative Writing Program / The Binghamton Center for Writers, and a Professor of Poetry at Binghamton University-State University of New York.

She is the Founder and the Executive Director of the Poetry Center at Passaic County Community College in Paterson, NJ, and editor of the Paterson Literary Review.

The winner of numerous prizes, she has published fifteen books of poetry, including The Weather of Old Seasons, Where I Come From, Things My Mother Told Me, Italian Women in Black Dresses, All That Lies Between Us, and her latest book, What We Pass On:  Collected Poems 1980-2009 (all by Guernica Editions).  Her latest poetry collection is The Place I Call Home  (2012, New York Quarterly Press).
