We Still Need Your Help

You’ve responded well to our plea three weeks ago when we asked people to volunteer for the Mass Poetry Festival. At the time we needed about 100 volunteers. We’ve filled nearly 60 of those positions. But as you see — even if you are math-o-phobic — we still have 40 slots to fill before Friday, May 3, when the Festival begins.volunteer button

We need greeters who can assure guests they are in the right place, or help them if they need guidance. We need volunteers to be in contact with the Festival headquarters in case the mike is working or some other emergency arises. We need people on Friday, the 3rd, through Sunday, the 5th.

In some cases you’ll be able to hear a reading or discussion while you are on duty. In others, you’ll be in a special place to meet and talk to other Festival goers, meeting new friends. More than one volunteer from last year expanded their poetry circle. And all the while you will be helping the Festival. Here’s a story from recounts the excitement of standing around and meeting others, which in many volunteer positions, you’ll have the opportunity to do.
