Common Threads 2014Poet Lisa Olstein has gathered ten poems that “embody and reflect upon and sometimes even answer the kinds of urges and imperatives we experience,” by poets with “deep ties to Massachusetts…poets that span decades and continents and expansive aesthetic domains.”

This year’s edition includes poems by: Elizabeth BishopJorie Graham, e.e. cummingsSylvia PlathThomas Sayers EllisEileen MylesPeter GizziStanley KunitzAgha Shahid Ali, and Robert Creeley.

New this year:  a video collage of the poems by Ryan MacDonald.

Come experience a live discussion of this year’s Common Threads poems with Michael Ansara, Dorothy Derifield, Susan Donnelly, Fred Marchant, J.D. Scrimgeour, moderated by Alice Kociemba. Saturday, May 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. in the Peabody Essex Museum.
